Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Her Niche Life is published by Fernwell Publishing LLC ("Her Niche Life," "we," "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through hernichelife.com, why, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it plainly. Questions are welcome at editors@hernichelife.com.

The short version

Information you give us

Contributor submissions

When you pitch us on the Contributors page, we collect your name, email address, type of submission, proposed headline, pitch description, an optional portfolio or sample link, whether you are 18 or older, and your confirmation that you agree to our Contributor Submission Terms. We use this to review your pitch, reply to you, and, if we move forward, arrange a contributor agreement. If you are under 18 and we would like to publish your work, we will contact you to arrange parent or guardian permission; we do not collect a parent's or guardian's details through the form.

Partnership inquiries

When you use the Advertise & Partnerships form, we collect your name, company or organization, business email, the type of partnership, your proposal details, and an optional website. We use this to evaluate and respond to your inquiry.

Contact form and email

When you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message. We use this to respond and, for corrections, to review our reporting.

Editor's Backstage Pass

The Editor's Backstage Pass sign-up asks only for your email address. Sign-ups are handled by our email provider, Beehiiv, which stores your address, sends our emails, and processes your confirmation and unsubscribe requests. Like most email services, Beehiiv may record whether an email is opened or a link is clicked. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

Journal purchases and magazine subscriptions

Journal purchases and digital magazine subscriptions are completed on Stripe's secure checkout pages. Stripe collects your payment and delivery details under its own privacy policy. We receive the order information needed to fulfill and support your purchase; we do not receive or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

This site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request, in order to deliver the site, deliver images, and protect against abuse. We do not use this data to build profiles of individual readers.

We don't use cookies on this site. If you set a preference on our Cookie Notice & Preferences page, that choice is stored in your own browser (in local storage) and is not sent to us.

Service providers we use

Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. We share personal information with them only so they can provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our readers, contributors, or publication.

How long we keep information

We keep form submissions and correspondence only as long as we reasonably need them to review, respond, keep a record of editorial and business decisions, and meet legal obligations. Pitches we decline and inquiries we don't pursue are deleted periodically. Mailing list information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Young readers

Her Niche Life is written for teens and young women and is intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and our forms are not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We welcome pitches from contributors aged 13 to 17, and we never publish work by a contributor under 18 without written permission from a parent or guardian.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have sent us by emailing editors@hernichelife.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will respond to requests as those laws require. You can unsubscribe from the Backstage Pass at any time.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and we limit access to submissions to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive personal information through our forms.

Where information is processed

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, for example when we add a new service, we will update this page and the date above.
