Contributor Submission Terms

Thank you for considering Her Niche Life for your work. These terms apply when you submit a pitch, writing, photography, or other material to us through our Contributors page or by email.

Who can submit

You must be at least 13 to submit. If you are under 18, you may pitch us, but we will not accept or publish your work until a parent or guardian has signed our permission and publication release. We'll send it to you by email if we want to move forward.

Your work must be your own

• Submit only original work that you created and have the right to share.
• Don't plagiarize, invent sources or quotes, or misrepresent interviews.
• Don't submit images you don't have permission to use. If a photograph shows identifiable people, you must have their permission, and a parent's or guardian's permission for anyone under 18.
• Tell us if any part of your submission was created with generative AI tools.
• Tell us about any paid relationship with a brand or organization mentioned in your work.

You keep your rights

Submitting a pitch doesn't transfer any rights to us. You keep ownership of your work. If we would like to publish it, we'll agree in writing, before publication, on the rights we're licensing, any payment, editing, credit, and how long the work will appear.

What happens after you submit

• Submissions are reviewed by our editors. They are never displayed publicly.
• We may accept, decline, or ask to discuss your pitch. We can't promise an individual reply to every submission.
• Submitting doesn't create an employment, contractor, or publishing relationship, and doesn't guarantee assignment, publication, or payment.
• Accepted work may be edited for length, clarity, accuracy, and style. We'll share significant edits with you before publication.
• You may withdraw a submission at any time before publication by emailing us.

Similar ideas

We receive many pitches, and some may overlap with stories we are already working on or with each other. A similar story we publish later doesn't mean your idea was used.

Your information

Don't include sensitive personal information, such as your home address, school, or date of birth, in a pitch. We handle submissions as described in our Privacy Policy.
